Normally, when you provide contents to your website, your disk space starts getting occupied. Suppose, if your disk quota is 60GB (for example) and you have used only  around 10GB but the disk parameter shows that you have used 50GB disk space or you have uploaded contents to cPanel but cPanel disk usage not updating. Then it is an issue with PHP. Therefore I always suggest you all to   keep your plugins and themes up-to-date. Because every plugins and themes are updating day by day and if you don’t update your WordPress, PHP version, plugins and themes-then your website become incompatible with all plugins, themes and scripts.

Are you experiencing cPanel disk usage incorrect message inside your cPanel dashboard? If this is the fact that you haven’t use much space but still the  cPanel dashboard providing insufficient disk space warning message! Don’t worry, there is a solution that fixes false warning/message in cPanel dashboard:

Check your WordPress dashboard. Are you getting warning message inside your WordPress dashboard to upgrade php version? If it shows, go to cPanel directly and upgrade php to the latest version and your disk usage quota will be start showing what exactly it has right now.

Now the question is how to upgrade php version, right. Just login to the cPanel and follow the following simple steps:

Step one: Write php in the search option and press enter. It will show you few items of php. Just click on the “select php version” option as same as the picture bellow.

Step two: Click on the down arrow and a popup will show up. Here your will see the current version of php just like the image. Scroll down a little and you will see all the latest versions bellow. Simple select the latest version there.

Step Three: After selecting the version, it will be look like the this image. Click on “Set as current” tab and wait for a couple of seconds, the php version will be set as default.

  • website performance will have improved dramatically.
  • It will fix compatibility issues with latest WordPress plugins.

Caution: If you see your website is broken and showing errors. Don’t worry. Just go to the php version and use same process to try a different version. Sometime it may happens because if you are using old version of WordPress but upgrade php to the latest version, it happens. In that case, upgrade your WordPress website too.
