Introduction:

SSL means Security Socket Layer and it always shows beside your domain name in the browser. When certificate is not installed or activated, the ssl padlock show unlock or insecure. On the other hand when it is installed or activated then ssl padlock shows locked. Few year ago when hosting providers do not provide ssl for free. That time they were charged separately for SSL service. That times we  the website developers got many freelancing jobs that was to install and activate SSL certificates for client’s website. That times we used free SSL certificate with 3 months expiry date. After that time it was subject to renew manually. Though such option still alive which is known as Let’s Encrypt. Step 1: Login to your cPanel >> go to SSL/TLS status and click here.

Step 2: It will take you to the domain list and beside the domain name it will show red circle if ssl is not installed or activated. In my case it is already activated. But in your case it may not and  shows red circle that means the ssl is not activated yet. In that case, you need to click on the check box >> click on the “Run Auto SSL” button. By doing this you will see that the red circle turned into green that means you have successfully activated your SSL certificate.
